Our Team

Joanne McKee
Director of Therapy Services
As the Director of the Therapy Services Department, Joanne has really enjoyed developing Physiotherapy and rehab programs throughout the Village to ensure all residents have the opportunity to stay active, stay fit and keep moving. She has 21 years of experience as a Physiotherapist and enjoys continuously challenging her staff to help create new programs, bring forward new ideas and “think outside the box”.

Allison Stewart
Supervisor of Fitness and Rehab
Allison is the Supervisor of Fitness and Rehab at Finlandia Village. She studied Kinesiology at Laurentian University and has been a Registered Kinesiologist since 2015. She started working with older adults in Long Term Care in 2016 and has since enjoyed offering her fitness knowledge to our home care patients and the members of the Finlandia Fitness Center. Allison also has a diploma in Recreation Therapy from Canadore College. Her passion is working with older adults to help them move better.

Smriti Singh
Registered Physiotherapist
Smriti is Finlandia’s full time Physiotherapist, caring for our nursing home and assisted living residents as well as our joint replacement patients. Before joining Finlandia she worked at different facilities throughout Sudbury (long term care, musculoskeletal clinic). She is a Physiotherapist from Nepal, where she worked for 5 years in different hospitals and has experience working with in and outpatient clients with various musculoskeletal conditions.

Amanda Tessier
Receptionist
Amanda’s is the friendly voice you will hear when you call the Fitness and Rehab department and she is the newest member of our team. She has over 20 years of experience teaching dance and is the former owner of Extreme Dance Studio. Amanda is currently completing the senior fitness certification in order to help lead exercise classes in the Fitness Centre. We are excited to announce that she will soon be offering dance classes to our Finlandia Village residents.

Curtis Hancock
Fitness Instructor
Curtis is the newest member of our team as a Fitness Instructor. You will find him teaching most of our fitness classes as well as assisting with our rehab programs. Curtis studied Kinesiology at Laurentian University and went on to obtain his Masters of Human Kinetics.
